Fatal Crashes Around The Holidays Make Me Sad

I am not saying that people should lose their lives at any time of year, but every time there is an accident around the holidays I find myself get really glum. I cannot imagine having to be on the giving or receiving end of some devastating information like that when people are supposed to be celebrating.

Last night I was reading an article about a crash that happened in Dallas, TX. There were two people killed, The worse thing is that one of the people who lost their lives was a teenager. This is one of the worst things, actually the worst, that a parent will ever go through. It hurts my heart to know that people have to deal with something like this during a season that is supposed to be filled with cheer.

I guess the one thing people should consider is the fact that the excitement of the holidays and terrible weather in some areas can cause people to be a bit reckless during the holiday season. I would advise everyone to be extra careful so that there is no incident. I know that there is no way to ensure that there will be no crashes at all, but maybe this will help. If what I am saying saves at least a handful of people then I will think that my job is done.

If you are going to be drinking and celebrating, make sure that you have a designated driver or you take a taxi to your destination. Getting behind the wheel in this condition is not worth it at all. Even if you think that you are okay to drive, consider the fact that getting home sooner is not worth more than losing your life due to something that could have been prevented.
